My name is Laura Fischer
Before anything else, I’m a mother, wife, daughter and sister. My family means the world to me. My kids are my life. I have three adorable, crazy, awesome children (who are 10 and under) and they are my inspiration (and also bring me to the brink of insanity! Haha!) My youngest was born in March of 2019, so I’m right there with you – reliving that amazing, cuddly baby time all over again.
Life is all about people, moments & emotions that we want to hold on to..
My background is in art and design – I have a Associate’s degree in Graphic Design. It was then when I really fell in love with editing professionally & learning the programs that ties in to Photography. I’ve always had a love affair with my camera, but it wasn’t until I had children of my own that it really blossomed and in 2014 I was inspired to branch off into photographing newborns and families professionally. I am extremely passionate about what I do – I feel like this is truly my dream job!
Not only do I still get to continue challenge myself artistically and creatively, but I also incorporate my design background when creating client albums or wall displays, and I get to meet and interact with new moms and cuddle with little ones. It’s really the best mix of all of the things I love most. <3
Our Studio
Laura Fischer Photography is a 425 square foot studio located in the heart of downtown, Watertown, NY. It is my happy place and I love to hear my customers comment how beautiful, clean and enjoyable it is. My #1 goal for you is to be comfortable and relaxed during your session. I will have water and snacks for you, toys for your little ones and a comfortable sitting area. Some parents even take a nap! Or you can watch me capture the perfect memories for you and your precious family.
What do I need to bring?
The simple answer is yourself, your baby and formula pumped milk in case of newborns! I have diapers, wipes, all the props, buckets, bowls, headbands, hats, etc. You don’t need to bring anything really!
Do you have props?
Yes. I have quite a bit! I have been photographing newborns since 2015 and have collected a good amount of props. However, if you have something you were gifted or that is a family heirloom that you would like photographed, I encourage it! I will always work with you to photograph anything you want. After all, these are your memories and I want to create something that you absolutely love and adore.
